Our Story

How it all started...

The Balm of Gilead Global Ministries started as a Vision of Senior Pastor, Bishop and Apostle Michael H. Hatch. The Lord led him specifically to the most unchurched area in Las Vegas, Nevada in the 89169 zip code, at the corner of Twain & University Center (formerly Swenson).

A faithful few followed, with one goal; to change the world.  We started with ourselves and learned how emotionally healthy spirituality played a role in our lives.  Since then, we've  been intentional in our efforts to spread the Gospel and make a positive change in the lives of everyone we encounter.

Expanding the vision...

Since opening the doors of the Church in December of 2015, The Balm of Gilead has grown by leaps and bounds. We started with 15 people, and have grown into a ministry of more than 200 people.  Additionally, we started in a space that was 2,500 square feet, and we now occupy a total of 5,000 square feet. We have a youth ministry that involves collaboration with the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department and the Las Vegas Golden Knights, playing both basketball and hockey. Our food pantry started by serving only a handful of people and has grown into a ministry where we have given out nearly two million pounds in just under four years.

And we have plans for even more growth. Under the leadership and guidance of our Senior Pastor Michael Hatch, we have plans to launch an Adult Literacy (GED) program and The Fatherless Homes program.

Where we are headed...

Our goal is growth, and with that we aim to change as many lives as possible through the Gospel of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Our slogan states "Where the soul of man is saved, the spirit of man is healed, and the total man is prepared for kingdom service."

This means we are focused on addressing the needs to the whole person, including education and employment guidance, decision making, spiritual healing, addiction management, as well as counseling and therapy.

We will also include classes that deal with anger management, forgiveness and business & financial management.
